The Lab-Volt Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (LVHVAC) software is used to measure, observe, and analyze parameters in the Refrigeration Training System, Model 3431.

Through 22-bit A/D acquisition of temperature and pressure data, the LVHVAC software allows the real-time monitoring of the temperature, pressure, and enthalpy all along the system. The data sampling rate and measurement duration are user-adjustable. The software automatically calculates and displays values indicating the performance of the system. These values include the superheat, the coefficient of performance, the net refrigeration effect, and the compression ratio. The display of the variables is continuously refreshed as the refrigeration cycle progresses, reflecting the changes in the values of the variables. A Data Recording Table permits the live recording of these values at different points of the refrigeration cycle for later reference and comparison. The system of measurement used by the software is selectable between metric or imperial.

A powerful tool called the Pressure/Enthalpy Diagram allows the real-time monitoring of the refrigeration cycle as it evolves. This permits the study of the system behavior and the graphical evaluation of the system performance.

A Trend Recorder provides a graph over time of the acquired data on pressure, temperature, and compressor consumption. The time scale of the recorder can be modified to obtain longer or shorter display periods. The trend recorder can be scrolled backward and forward in time, and a cursor permits accurate measurement of the displayed data at any given point of the recorded period. The recorded data can be saved to disk as a .TXT file, and then be imported into a spreadsheet program for detailed analysis.

A USB connection is used to connect the computer that runs the LVHVAC software and the Refrigeration Training System.

Two languages (English, Spanish) are available in LVHVAC.

LVHVAC can be installed in a computer running under Windows^® XP or Windows^® Vista.
