Product Fixes - PF1002

Release Date: 1997/06/27

Affected Model(s): 9061

Affected Product(s): LVDAM-EMS 1.2x

Brief Description of the Problem:

Unable to change the Base Address of the Acquisition Device in the LVDAM-EMS Setup utility.

Full Description of the Problem:

There is a conflict between the detection of the I/O card by the LVDAM-EMS Software and the configuration of the Base Address of the card in the Preference section of the LVDAM-EMS Setup utility. If no card is present at address 220H, the Base Address is grayed out and cannot be changed.

How to Fix:

Instead of using the LVDAM-EMS Setup utility to configure a new Base Address for the I/O card, proceed as follows:

  • Set the new Base Address on the I/O card, and put it back into the computer.

  • Restart the computer. Do not open any LVDAM-EMS applications at this time.

  • Using a text editor (such as Notepad), edit the LVDAM.INI file located in folder Windows.

  • In the [HARDWARE] section of the file, change the line Base Address=220 to the new Base Address selected for the I/O card.

  • Save the LVDAM.INI file and run any of the LVDAM-EMS applications. The new Base Address will then be detected.
